Disabled parking for um... answers on a postcard please!

Text description: marked disabled parking bay with wheelchiar symbol but two bollards totally obstruct bay so you could at most park a motorbike.

...it almost looks like they expect the parking bay to hold a wheelchair and not a car. Wha-!

What afuna said. I'm still trying to figure out what possessed them to put those bollards in the parking bay. As something to which people can chain said wheelchairs? *shakes head*

At least one of the commuter lots at my old university did combine disabled and motorbike parking spaces. You can probably imagine how much space was usually left for anything but bikes. :-|

Is it still meant to be a parking place at all? It seems like the symbol is fairly faded away, is it maybe meant to be a no parking place so that wheelchair users can park in the next spot and have room to maneuver?

Hmm, maybe? (Also, what's the parking lot for? My mind insists that there should be abandoned shopping carts in the way, but maybe it's not a shopping mall or supermarket?)

i wonder if it's meant to keep people from parking there so that the curb cut is accessible on the left.

It looks a little to me like that may have been a parking space in the past- but look at the line- it's obviously been repainted more recently than the wheelchair symbol. Maybe the spot's been moved?
